  1. What IT courses are available for 10+2 pass outs in CASET College of Computer Sc. & Engineering?

Ans: 10+2 pass student(from all streams) can join either BCA(Bachelor of Computer applications) 3 year fulltime regular degree course under Kashmir University or join AICTE approved ‘B’ Level professional 4 year fulltime regular IT Engineering course under DOEACC. The ‘B’ Level Engineering course has been given equivalence to MCA by the Govt. of India as well as the J&K Govt under SRO 115. The ‘B’ Level Engineering course is a National level course and hence is of an exceedingly high technical standard with very high job potential. For proof of affiliation by Kashmir Univ/AICTE-DOEACC pl. ask the counselor. Previous knowledge of Computer Sc. is not required.

  1. What IT courses are available for Graduates/ 3 year polytechnic Diploma holders?

Ans: A graduate/ polytechnic Diploma holder belonging to any stream can directly join the ‘B’ Level(MCA) 3 year fulltime regular course (pl. note that for Graduates/ 3 year polytechnic Diploma holders the ‘B’ Level is only a 3 year course). On completion of first 10 papers and project the student gets ‘A’ Level certification after which the student can either withdraw or continue for the full ‘B’ level(MCA).

  1. Under what law is the ‘B’ Level(MCA) recognized by the J&K Govt.?

Ans: The ‘B’ Level(MCA) is the required qualification for a college lecturer in computer science and Information Technology as per the recruitment rules notification by J&K Govt. under SRO 115 dated 16th April 2004. ‘B’ Level(MCA) pass outs have been exempted from NET/SLET for five years by the J&K Govt.

  1. How is the All India ‘B’ Level(MCA) different from the BE/MCA course offered by state level Universities?

Ans: The ‘B’ Level exams are conducted nationwide by the DOEACC which is the national board setup by the Govt. of India and approved by the AICTE. The standard of this exam is therefore very high in comparison to the BE/MCA under state universities. Just as the IAS exams, which are held at the national level, are of a much higher standard as compared to the local state level KAS exam. Similarly the national CBSE 10+2 exam is of a very high standard in comparison to the local JKBOSE exam. In general an All India exam will always be of a much higher standard then any state level exam.

  1. Is it necessary to have studied maths in the qualifying exam for joining ‘B’ Level (MCA)?

Ans: No. Math is not required for joining either BCA or ‘B’ Level(MCA). However candidates who join BCA  have to study 2 math papers in BCA. Those joining the ‘B’ Level(MCA) have to study 3 math papers in ‘B’ level. We teach math from the very beginning to every student in the ‘B’ Level. This means that most of the school level math is taught from the basic fundamentals to ensure that any weaknesses of the past are completely removed.

  1. What is the teaching methodology adopted at CASET College for ‘B’ Level (MCA)?

Ans: Since we are interested in producing exceptionally competent engineers we have chosen a research oriented teaching methodology in the ‘B’ Level. Students are made to experiment and workout their own innovative technical ideas. Mugging technical material is seriously discouraged and is looked down upon. In fact cramming and spoon feeding solutions as is done in the conventional teaching approach is a sure way to fail in the ‘B’ level National exams. The exams are not memory based but knowledge based. IT is not like history and hence has to be taught using modern teaching methodology. You are also expected to attend college from 9am to 5pm. There will be no summer or winter vacations. The‘B’ Level(MCA)  course is clearly meant only for high quality students.

  1. What kind of student can be successful in ‘B’ Level(MCA)?

Ans: Since the ‘B’ Level(MCA) is a very high quality Engineering programme it naturally expects the student also to be of a high quality. The student should be of above average intelligence with a creative bent of mind and asking lots of questions. Should be ready to work very hard with total focus and dedication. Must have a positive attitude in general. A strong desire to excel in the field of IT is a must. To be a successful student he should also know how to work cooperatively with his teachers, seniors and other colleagues. He should be self motivated and have a sense of purpose in life. It is the student who has to do the studying and not the teachers. Good cultural background at home has a strong positive influence in your success. Marks obtained in the state level exams are not always a very good criterion to judge a students basic ability.

  1. What kind of student should not join ‘B’ Level(MCA)?

Ans: Student having a casual approach to studies, absenting from classes and internal tests, never asking questions, having low ambition, always waiting for a spoon feed in learning, depending on memorizing notes prepared by others, never exerting her own brain to search for solutions, also having an average IQ, such a student should in no case join the ‘B’ Level(MCA) at CASET College. Also if you think that after paying fees it is now the colleges duty to make you into a top quality engineer and not your duty to work hard then also you should not join ‘B’ Level. Such a student will prove to be an utter failure and will disturb the educational environment of the college without ever trying to improve himself.

  1. What are the ways that students get cheated?

Ans: Most students get cheated when they look for short cuts in academic standards. Remember whenever you choose to join an easy course you are cheating your own self.  In future the govt. will give no jobs while as the private industry will give jobs only to engineers with high quality degrees. So where do you go?

  1. How does a ‘B’ Level(MCA) student compare with a B.E/MCA in IT?

Ans: Very favourably. The only competition for the ‘B’ Level Engineers comes from B.Tech pass outs from the IITs Normally we have observed that after only 50% of your ‘B’ Level(MCA) course is over, you will find that most BE or MCA pass outs from state universities in Bangalore , Poona, Delhi etc or from average Universities in Australia, UK, USA etc. will look far behind you in terms of quality. But this is only if you will follow our work methods otherwise you will be another incompetent degree holder without a job.

  1. How does the U.S Govt. recognize the ‘B’ Level(MCA)?

Ans: At par with BE in computer Science from a recognized American University. After ‘B’ Level(MCA) you can join MS in USA or do M.Tech in INDIA. The Japanese govt. has announced relaxation in visa norms to ‘B’ Level (MCA)   pass outs. The Japanese and German govt. have announced scholarships to ‘B’ Level students for learning their countries respective languages. This is to help ‘B’ Level students in getting absorbed easily in Japan /Germany.

  1. What kind of results has CASET College achieved in the National exams?

Ans: The results of our college are legendry. Our college has among the highest pass percentages in the country. The college has produced 37 super graders (Students who scored 100%). No other institution in J&K state has produced even a single super grader. Out of all the Univ. and engineering colleges in J&K only CASETIANS have passed the All India GATE exam in Computer Sc. and IT achieving 99.67 percentile rank score. After joining CASET College most students tend to get more ambitious than they were in the past. For full details please see the honours board in the college.

  1. How about a correspondence/private BE/MCA course?

Ans: The world is full of wonderful opportunities for good students, why do you want to destroy your career even before it has begun. These distance/correspondence/private BE/MCA courses have become an easy way to earn money for cash starved universities selling cheap degrees to innocent children.

  1. Isn’t any kind of BE/ MCA good enough? Why is it important to have a ‘B’ Level(MCA) of a very high standard?

Ans: It all depends on your ambitions in life. You must know that a large number of BE/MCA pass outs are unemployed because nobody finds them useful. Many low quality BE/ MCAs from state Univ., join ordinary call centers. This is therefore the time to decide how respectfully you want others to treat you in your professional life. If you are ambitious go for National level courses. These are India’s best.

  1. How can the career of a ‘B’ Level pass out student be different from a BE/MCA from state universities?

Ans: ‘B’ Level(MCA) pass out students usually get a good start which makes all the difference in the long run. While as the career of an ordinary BE/MCA is lost waiting in the long queues of employment exchanges or else he has to settle for lowly jobs in call centers.

  1. What kind of salary can a ‘B’ Level(MCA) get as compared to an ordinary BE/MCA?

Ans: For an ordinary BE/MCA getting some job in itself is a big achievement. There is no point for him to hope for a big salary. As far as the ‘B’ Level (MCA) pass out is considered the sky is the limit. As a rough indicator you can expect him to get close to Rs 50,000/= after about 5 years experience. For brighter students expect them to get the same salary after the first two years itself. You must remember that the world is always hungry for high quality specialists in every field.

  1. How can CASET College help me in determining whether I have the required IQ to join ‘B’ Level(MCA)?

Ans:  We will conduct an aptitude test based on Non verbal reasoning which can give you a good idea about your IQ.  This test however will not tell us about your positive attitude and your readiness to work hard according to our work methods- two very critical qualities required to succeed. These two things we leave to your own judgment. Clearing the IQ  test is compulsory for students wishing to join the ‘B’ Level.

  1. What kind of student should join BCA?

Ans: If your past academic performance has been poor and you feel that you need more time to mature in your studies and also if you are not very sure of full commitment to the IT field then you should join BCA.  However after completing BCA if you feel confident you may join ‘B’ Level (MCA). (pl. note that for Graduates/ 3 year poly. Diploma holders the ‘B’ Level is only a 3 year course)
